EpiphytesEpiphytes are plants that grow on other living plants. They are also called "air plants" since they do not grow on soil. Epiphytes absorb moisture from the air. They are not parasites — they use the host plant only for physical support, not as a nutrient source. Epiphtes generate energy through photosynthesis. However, they can overburden and damage the host plants if they grow too large. |
