Cloud Forest |
|
| Cloud forests are a type of rain forest in tropical or subtropical mountain areas, usually covered with mists or clouds. In a cloud forest, there is less direct sunlight and lots of moisture in the air. Trees are usually shorter and spread out more. Moisture in the air encourages the growth of abundant epiphytes. These plants grow on trees and get their water from the misty clouds. Ochids, bromeliads, ferns and mosses are usually found in cloud forests. | |
